UCStudios is UCU’s very own film committee, striving to produce high-quality videos and short films. This year, following a merger with CinemaCo we also have weekly screenings of hand-picked independent films, both contemporary and classic.
If you have an interest in film-making, film-watching, acting, directing, editing, script-writing, you name it – contact us to see how you can get involved, or how we can make your ideas come to life. We are interested in all creative ideas, so please approach us! If you wish to undertake a project independently, you can also contact us about borrowing equipment. However, we would like to stress that we are not a recording company, and thus do not film events simply for broadcasting purposes.
Nothing to do on all those lazy Sundays? UCStudios has the answer! The first three Sundays of the month are devoted to screenings of films with a particular theme, followed by a Sunday complete with a film-making workshop. This allows you to get hands-on experience creating your own film in the style of that month’s genre.
This year UCStudios will be undertaking two advanced short-film projects. These relatively large projects will require a lot of work and commitment. Therefore, if you have any experience in the film-making domain, be it acting, lighting, cinematography, sound or if you really want to help out in any way possible, then let us know! However, it is important to note that everyone involved in the short films must be fully committed to the project. As mentioned, these projects take time and effort, without full commitment, they cannot be completed. So, if you are interested, please let us know! The completed films will be screened for the UCU community in the form of premières and other screenings. These are exciting projects so get involved!
